Dura-Fibre® Goes Green Utilizing SFI Certified Products
Forte™, Forte™ Blanc and Glacier packaging solutions showcase sustainability

MENASHA, WI (March 6, 2008) – Dura-Fibre®, LLC renews its commitment to environmental stewardship with a trio of high-impact, cost-effective, sustainable packaging solutions. In addition to its popular Forte™, the company boasts two additional eco-friendly packaging alternatives: Forte™ Blanc and Glacier. All three are manufactured using Mead Westvaco products that have Chain-of-Custody Certification from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). SFI is endorsed by the International Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), which is the world's largest forest certification system.

"As leaders in the sustainable packaging industry, our 'Green Team' is always seeking to create products that meet our customers' economic and environmental needs," said Jim Volkman, VP of Sales and Marketing for Dura-Fibre.

Forte, Forte Blanc and Glacier are made from products that have met the rigorous SFI Standard (SFIS) program requirements. SFIS compliance is based on a comprehensive system of principles and performance measures that address economic, environmental, cultural, legal and scientific factors. These standards are updated every five years, allowing the organization and its participants to continuously refine and improve sustainability efforts.

"Our customers want to show their customers they use products originating from wellmanaged sources. That's why we use SFI certified products," Volkman stressed. "Dura-Fibre has made it our mission to eliminate the hard choices customers face. Our packaging alternatives prove you can preserve the planet while also making a profit. It's not an either-or situation anymore."

"We're finding more and more of our customers are as equally concerned about preventing illegal logging and safeguarding the environment as they are focused on their bottom line," said Volkman.

Dura-Fibre fully agrees with SFI philosophy that all landowners, manufacturers and related businesses play a vital role in the long-term sustainability of our wildlife, plants, water, soil and air.

"We will continue to explore new products that promote conservation through responsible forest management," Volkman said. "As always, Dura-Fibre strives to lead by example."
